A hardcourt tennis competition called the Linz Open is held in Linz, Austria. With the exception of 2022, the event has been held annually since its debut in 1987. It began as an ITF competition before changing to a WTA circuit stop in 1991. Even though the Linz Open may not be the most famous event, it has produced a number of notable champions, like Victoria Azarenka, Angelique Kerber, Justine Henin, Lindsay Davenport, and Maria Sharapova, to name a few. In the final, Alison Riske defeated Jaqueline Cristian 2-6, 6-2, 7-5 to win the competition’s final iteration in 2021.

The top seed and possibly the overwhelming favourite to win the WTA 250 competition in 2023 is Maria Sakkari. Ekaterina Alexandrova, Donna Vekic, Petra Martic, and Irina-Camelia Begu are just a few of the competitors that will be vying for the title. 7 in the world The sole member of the Top 10 to participate in the 2023 Linz Open is top seed Maria Sakkari. The Greek won five of the first seven games in 2023 and put on some strong performances toward the close of the 2022 season. Sakkari will be motivated to win her first championship since 2019 after an unflattering third-round defeat at the Australian Open.
