Wimbledon women's round up: Kerber, Sabalenka, Pliskova and Barty enter semi finals

Day 8 of Wimbledon 2021 witnessed World No.1 Ash Barty, second seed Aryna Sabalenka, former champion Angelique Kerber and Karolina Pliskova move to the semi finals of the game.

Ons Jabeur vs Aryna Sabalenka

21st seed Ons Jabeur lost to second seed Aryna Sabalenka in Wimbledon 2021 quarterfinals. The latter made it to the semifinals of Wimbledon for the first time after a straight-set victory over Jabeur.

The 23-year-old Belarusian No.2 seed defeated Ons in 73 minutes. Her win percentage stood at winning 83 percent on first serve and saving six of seven breakpoints. This will be her first Grand Slam semi-final.

Angelique Kerber vs Karolina Muchova

World No.25 and former Wimbledon champion Angelique Kerber defeated Karolina Muchova in Wimbledon quarterfinals. She will meet the winner of Ash Barty.

Angelique Kerber, the only remaining ladies’ singles champion in the draw, reached her fourth semi-final at The Championships with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Karolina Muchova.

Karolina Pliskova vs Viktorija Golubic- No.1 Court

Karolina Pliskova made it ot the Wimbledon finals with one of her best performances. She managed a 6-2, 6-2 win over Switzerland’s Viktorija Golubic. The match started on serve for the first set, but then in the sixth game, Pliskova hit a cross court smash to take a 4-2 lead and then charged on to wrap up the set in just 37 minutes.

Ash Barty vs Ajla TomIjanovic

World No.1 Ash Barty has defeated Ajla TomIjanovicand booked her place in the semi final of Wimbledon. She won the game in straight sets of 6-1, 6-3. Barty will meet Angelique Kerber in the semifinals of Wimbledon 2021.
