France has always been home to some of the best tennis players the world has ever seen. The likes of Rene Lacoste, Suzanne Lenglen, Gael Monfils and Jo Wilfred Tsonga are just some of the names that have made an incredible impact on the sport. One bright prospect who seems to be rising through the ranks and on course to making a name for himself in French tennis is Ugo Humbert.

Humbert has three ATP titles, the first of which he won in Auckland in January 2020, when he defeated fellow Frenchman Benoit Paire in three sets. In October 2020, he won his second ATP title in Antwerp, defeating fellow Next Generation ATP Finalist Alex De Minaur in straight sets. In June 2021 in Halle, he won his third title and first ATP 500, defeating world No. 7 Andrey Rublev in the final.

Humbert made his Grand Slam singles debut as a qualifier at the 2018 US Open. He defeated fellow qualifier Collin Altamirano in his first main-draw match. He then went on to lose in four sets to Stan Wawrinka in the second round. At the 2018 Moselle Open, he defeated Bernard Tomic in three sets to win his first ATP 250 main-draw match on home soil.

Humbert advanced to the fourth round of Wimbledon in 2019, defeating 16th seed Gael Monfils and 19th seed Felix Auger-Aliassime, only to lose in straight sets to eventual and defending champion Novak Djokovic. Humbert has six Challenger titles and has competed in three Challenger finals.
