She was defeated by Ajla Tomljanovic in the opening round. Despite having a 6-0 head-to-head advantage, this was her first defeat against Tomljanovic. She lost to third-seeded and World No. 4 Maria Sakkari in Toronto’s second round.  She was defeated by world No. 1 Iga in the second round of the Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati. She lost to eventual champion and world No. 1 Iga Swiatek in the second round of the US Open, where she was ranked 51.

Her mother was the first African-American woman in Division I history to be selected to the first team of All-American swimmers.
