Reilly Opelka is a professional tennis player from the United States. He is the tallest-ever ATP-ranked player, standing at 6 feet 11 inches tall (tied with Ivo Karlovi), and can serve in the low-140 mph range. He has been ranked as high as world No. 19 in singles by the ATP on September 13, 2021, and world No. 89 in doubles on August 2, 2021. He has two ATP singles titles and one ATP doubles title to his credit. He is a Wimbledon junior champion. Opelka won the 2015 Junior Wimbledon tournament, defeating Junior world No. 1 Taylor Fritz en route to defeating Mikael Ymer in the final, and reached the Wimbledon Championships finals of the Boys’ Doubles event (with Akira Santillan).
Opelka upset compatriot John Isner in the first round of the 2019 Australian Open. This was his second win in the top ten of his career. In February, Opelka defeated Isner once more on his way to winning the New York Open, his first ATP title. In July, he had his best Grand Slam performance to date, reaching the third round of Wimbledon and defeating Stan Wawrinka in the process. Instead, he started the season as the sixth seed at the Great Ocean Road Open, where he was defeated in the second round by Botic van de Zandschulp. Opelka reached his first Masters semifinal in Rome, defeating Richard Gasquet, Lorenzo Musetti, Aslan Karatsev, and Federico Delbonis. He lost to Rafael Nadal.
