A professional tennis player from the Czech Republic named Linda Fruhvirtová was born on May 1st, 2005. On January 30, 2023, she achieved career-high WTA rankings in singles and doubles of 51 and 253, respectively. She made her WTA Tour main-draw debut at the 2020 Prague Open after receiving a wildcard for the main tournament. She won her maiden WTA singles title at the 2022 Chennai Open. At the junior level, Fruhvirtová won both the singles and doubles titles at the Petits As competition. The following year, her sister Brenda became the first members of the same family to win the singles title. Linda Fruhvirtová achieved an ITF Junior career-high ranking of No. 2 on December 13, 2021. After that, on August 1, 2022, she was able to rise to the WTA world No. 151 position.

WTA Tour

At the 2020 Prague Open, Fruhvirtová made her WTA Tour debut in the main event after being given wildcards for the singles and doubles categories. Additionally, she was given a wildcard for the 2021 Miami Open qualification, where Nina Stojanovi defeated her in the first round. She was given a wildcard for the main event of the WTA 250 MUSC Health Open in April, and when Alizé Cornet retired in the third set, she used it to win her first WTA singles match. She defeated Emma Navarro in straight sets to go to the quarterfinals before falling to eventual champion Astra Sharma. The youngest player in the top 400 of the WTA rankings at the time was Linda, who was only 15 years old. She competed in the Cleveland WTA 250 main draw as the fortunate loser. In two close sets, she overcame Tara Moore before falling to Magda Linette. She finished the season by making it to the WTA 125 Korea Open quarterfinals, where she fell to Ekaterina Kazionova in three sets.

First WTA Title

For the Miami Open, Fruhvirtová was given a main-draw wildcard. She won against Danka Kovini in the opening round to earn her first WTA 1000-level triumph. Elise Mertens, the world No. 24 and the 20th seed, was defeated by her in the second round, giving her the biggest win of her career and her first triumph over a player ranked in the top 25. After that, she defeated former world No. 1 Victoria Azarenka for her first victory over a player ranked in the top 20, earning her a spot in the top 200 rankings. She was able to make her Grand Slam debut at the US Open following three qualifying victories.  She defeated Wang Xinyu in her first Grand Slam main-draw match. Garbie Muguruza then put an end to her progress by eliminating her in the next round. She defeated Magda Linette in three sets in the Chennai Open final to claim her maiden WTA Tour victory. She became the 74th-ranked athlete after this victory, breaking into the top 100 for the first time in her career.

Martina and Hynek Fruhvirtova welcomed Linda into the world on May 1st, 2005 in Prague, Czech Republic. Brenda Fruhvirtova, her younger sister, was also a professional tennis player when she was born in 2007. They have played doubles matches together and train together. Linda stated of her sister in 2022, “We workout together occasionally.” She is clearly very talented. Together, we play doubles. I am really eager for her to participate in these competitions so that we may attend together and schedule these matches. She probably will arrive soon.

Linda is still rather young, and there have been no rumours that she has a partner or that she has made any mention of him on social media. The student has successfully moved from her outstanding junior career into seniors and is currently focused on her career. If she keeps making the improvement she has so far, she will undoubtedly become tennis’ next great thing.
