Katerina Siniaková, a Czech professional tennis player who is ranked No. 1 in doubles, was born on May 10, 1996. She achieved the career Super Slam in women’s doubles and has won seven Grand Slam titles in the category, all while partnering fellow countrywoman Barbora Krejková. In addition, the pair came in second at the 2018 WTA Finals, the 2021 Australian Open, and the 2022 WTA Finals. Siniaková and Lucie Hradecka also advanced to the 2017 US Open final. She first rose to the top spot in the world in October 2018, remaining there for 83 weeks in total. She has also won 21 doubles championships on the WTA Tour, including the 2021 WTA Finals and two WTA 1000 titles. Siniaková has won three WTA titles in singles, at the Shenzhen Open in 2017, the Swedish Open in 2018, and the Slovenia Open in 2022. Siniaková attained her career-high singles ranking of world No. 31 in October 2018. She defeated the No. 1 player in the world and the current US and Australian Open winner Naomi Osaka to go to the fourth round of the 2019 French Open, which was her greatest major performance. She has also advanced to the third round of seven previous Grand Slam competitions.

National Represntative

She was the third-ranked female tennis player from the Czech Republic at the moment (considering Petra Kvitová’s injury) when Petr Pála originally proposed her for the Fed Cup team in February 2017. The other two nominees were Karolna Plková and Barbora Strcová. Nevertheless, the captain eventually declared that Siniaková would first gain experience. When Siniaková and Barbora Krejková won the gold medal in the women’s tennis doubles competition at the 2020 Summer Olympics, they made history for the Czech Republic. At the 2020–21 Billie Jean King Cup Finals in Prague, Siniakova competed for the Czech Republic alongside Lucie Hradecká in the doubles match. Additionally, she competed for the Czech Republic in the Glasgow, Scotland, Billie Jean King Cup Finals in 2022. She and Markéta Vondrouová defeated Poland in doubles during the group stage, and she then defeated Coco Gauff to secure the match’s lone point.

2022 Journey

The top seed at the Australian Open, Siniaková advanced to the doubles final alongside Krejková, where they triumphed over Beatriz Haddad Maia and Anna Danilina to win the women’s doubles championship for the first time at the Australian Open. She was defeated by first-time qualifier Maja Chwaliska in the singles opening round at Wimbledon in a pair of straight sets. She and her doubles partner, Barbora Krejcikova, advanced to the final in the same tournament and won the title for the second time at this major by defeating top seeds Elise Mertens and Zhang Shuai in straight sets. At the Guadalajara Open, the final WTA 1000 of the year, she produced another solid singles victory to defeat top-20 player Haddad Maia in the opening roundand advanced to the doubles semifinals with Krejková. The two then competed in the Texas city of Fort Worth’s 2022 WTA Finals – Doubles. The Czechs won the round robin stage without losing a game, but Veronika Kudermetova and Elise Mertens upset them in the championship match.
