On July 15, 1997, Swiss tennis player Jil Belen Teichmann was born. She has been ranked as high as No. 21 in the world in singles and No. 74 in doubles by the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA). In WTA 125 tournaments, she has won two singles titles, one doubles title, one doubles title, six singles titles, five doubles titles, and one doubles title. At the 2014 US Open, Teichmann, a former junior world No. 3, won the girls’ doubles title. Teichmann entered the top 30 for the first time at world No. 29 after the tournament, despite being eliminated by Jessica Pegula in the final four. She defeated Rybakina twice at the Italian Open, advancing to the quarterfinals in a match that lasted more than three hours and was on par with the Madrid 1000 in 2022.
