Alison Van Uytvanck, a professional tennis player from Belgium, was born on March 26, 1994. Van Uytvanck has won 12 singles titles on the ITF Circuit, three Challenger Tour singles wins, three WTA Tour singles titles, five singles titles, two doubles titles, and three titles on the WTA Tour. In August 2018, she climbed as high as No. 37 in the world for singles. In 2011, she won four ITF singles titles in Dijon, France; Edinburgh; Sunderland; Vale Do Lobo, Portugal (both UK). In Tessenderlo, Belgium, she too made it to the final before losing to Anna-Lena Grönefeld. She competed at the Brussels Open, where she qualified by defeating Margalita Chakhnashvili 6-3, 6-2 in the first round, Laura Siegemund 2-6, 6-4, 6-3 in the second round, and Hsieh Su-wei 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 in the third round (3rd round of qualifying draw). In the opening round of the main draw, she played Patty Schnyder and won 6-3, 2-6, 6-2. She subsequently lost 6-7(2), 4-6 in her subsequent encounter against Yanina Wickmayer, a fellow countrywoman. She also made the main draw at’s-Hertogenbosch, where Alexandra Dulgheru defeated her.

First WTA challenger title

In 2012, she competed in Glasgow and advanced to the final of the ITF singles tournament (Germany). She made her Fed Cup debut against Serbia in February after Ann Devries, her coach, decided to go with her in the crucial doubles rubber instead of Kirsten Flipkens. They were paired with Yanina Wickmayer, and they lost the match (and hence the tie) in three sets. Alison Van Uytvanck won the Taipei Ladies Open in 2013 after defeating fellow countrywoman Yanina Wickmayer in the final and Dinah Pfizenmaier in the semifinals. This was her first WTA 125 championship. She participated in the main draws of all four Grand Slam competitions, and at Wimbledon, she made it to the second round for the first time in her professional career in 2014.

Three singles titles

Uytvanck defeated Markéta Vondrouová in the championship match in Budapest in February 2019, successfully defending her title.  She won the Tashkent Open in September and didn’t lose a set until the championship match, where she upset Sorana Cîrstea, the fifth seed and 2008 winner, in three sets. She barely lost a quarterfinal match in Lyon in February 2020 against eventual champion, top-10 player, and 2020 Australian Open champion Sofia Kenin in three sets and three tiebreaks. She defeated local competitor Putintseva in the championship match at the Astana Open in 2021 to claim her sixth WTA Tour singles victory.

René Van Uytvanck and Krista Laemers were Van Uytvanck’s parents when he was born in the little village of Grimbergen. When she was five years old, her older brother Sean introduced her to tennis. She trained locally with Sacha Katsnelson on occasion and with the Flemish Tennis Association, where she was coached by Ann Devries. Alison Van Uytvanck is making Emilie Vermeiren’s Instagram profile official some months after calling it quits with her long-term partner, fellow WTA player Greet Minnen. The most well-known LGBT couple on the WTA Tour used to be Greet Minnen and Alison Van Uytvanck of Belgium. They dated for almost five years before getting engaged in December 2020. Less than a year after getting married, the pair announced their separation and stated that they were taking a break from their romance. Although they no longer play doubles together, Minnen was seen watching Van Uytvanck from the stands in March at the 2022 BNP Paribas Open. Alison Van Uytvanck and Emilie Vermeiren took a selfie in front of the Eiffel Tower during the 2022 French Open and shared it on Instagram. With love, from Paris, the caption reads, using a heart emoji. With a heart-shaped emoji and the words, “Because everything is so much more fun with you,” Vermeiren replied. Van Uytvanck also posted a picture of them hugging in a tennis club on Instagram stories.
