Linda Fruhvirtová is a professional tennis player from the Czech Republic who was born on May 1, 2005. She attained career-high WTA rankings of 51 in singles and 253 in doubles on January 30, 2023. She received a main-draw wildcard for the 2020 Prague Open, where she made her WTA Tour main-draw debut. At the 2022 Chennai Open, she won her first WTA singles championship. Elise Mertens, the world No. 24 and the 20th seed, was defeated by her in the second round, giving her the biggest win of her career and her first triumph over a player ranked in the top 25. After that, she defeated former world No. 1 Victoria Azarenka for her first victory over a player ranked in the top 20, earning her a spot in the top 200 rankings. She was able to make her Grand Slam debut at the US Open following three qualifying victories. She defeated Wang Xinyu in her first Grand Slam main-draw match. Garbie Muguruza then put an end to her progress by eliminating her in the next round. She defeated Magda Linette in three sets in the Chennai Open final to claim her maiden WTA Tour victory. She became the 74th-ranked athlete after this victory, breaking into the top 100 for the first time in her career.
