No. 7 in the world Stefanos Tsitsipas has lost some form over the last two tournaments, but he will be hoping to get back on track in Cincinnati and recapture the early season form that has helped him go 42-15 in 2022. Tsitsipas, who won the Monte-Carlo Masters and the Mallorca Open this year, was knocked out in the third round of Wimbledon by Nick Kyrgios and then exited the Canadian Open without winning a match after falling to Jack Draper in the Round of 32. He’ll be hoping to put his disappointments behind him quickly and get off to a good start in Cincinnati, where he’s 6-4. The nine-time tour-level champion had previously reached the semifinals in Cincinnati twice.

46th in the world Filip Krajnovic advanced to Round 2 after defeating Daniel Evans in the first round on Tuesday in Cincinnati. The Briton defeated Krajinovic in a three-set first-round match at the Canadian Open last week. The Serbian player, on the other hand, avenged that defeat on Tuesday with a 6-3, 6-4 victory. Krajinovic committed 34 unforced errors, 12 fewer than Evans’ 46. Krajinovic broke vans three times in the first set and once in the second to win in an hour and 25 minutes. The 30-year-old improved his season record to 19-15 with the victory. Krajinovic, who reached the quarterfinals in Cincinnati two years ago, is now 4-3 in the tournament.
