Tsitsipas recently participated in the Astana Open where he defeated the likes of Andrey Rublev and Hubert Hurkacz to make it through to the final.
Top seed Stefanos Tsitsipas’ 2022 ATP Stockholm Open campaign will commence from the round of 16 after a first round bye. The Greek will take on American tennis player Maxime Cressy for a place in the last eight of the historic ATP event. Tsitsipas recently participated in the Astana Open where he defeated the likes of Andrey Rublev and Hubert Hurkacz to make it through to the final. However, 21-time Grand Slam winner Novak Djokovic proved to be too strong for the Greek as he fell to a 6-3, 6-4 defeat. The 24-year-old has two ATP titles to his name so far this season, winning the Mallorca Open and Monte Carlo Masters earlier in the year. He will be hopeful of adding a third to his cabinet for 2022 and finish out the season on a high.
After suffering two consecutive first round exits at Firenze and Astana, Maxime Cressy has broken the streak after defeating Ilya Ivashka in the first round of the 2022 Stockholm Open. Cressy’s service game was on point as he recorded 22 aces and returned one out of seven break points to record a 4-6, 7-6 (7-5), 6-4 victory.
Stefanos Tsitsipas and Maxime Cressy are scheduled to face one another in the round of 16 of the 2022 ATP Stockholm Open on Wednesday, October 19. The competition’s main draw is set to commence on October 17, 2022 and conclude on October 23, 2022.
The ATP Stockholm Open will have five rounds of action excluding the qualifiers. These are the round of 32, round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and final. The competition’s main draw is set to commence on October 17, 2022 and conclude on October 23, 2022.
