He preserved nine out of 10 breakpoints and received the break in each of the three games in which he generated a breakpoint, so everything went his way from beginning to end. He had previously lost in the final round of qualifying at the US Open last year and San Diego the week before, so he required a lucky loser spot to play in the main draw at the ATP Seoul this week. This is also his first campaign in the main draw of a tour-level event.
