On Tuesday in the round of 32 WTA Slovenia open, Ajla Tomljanovic of Australia will face Ana Bogdan of Romania.
The last few weeks Ajla Tomljanovic spent in North America were completely fantastic. She started off the year with a Cincinnati quarterfinal, but it paled in comparison to the US Open, where she said Serena Williams farewell in front of a record-breaking crowd and advanced to her third major quarterfinal of her career. Her ideal week at Flushing Meadows came to an end in a tight match against eventual runner-up Ons Jabeur. Since the beginning of the grass-court season, she has won 20 games. During this time, she has defeated four players ranked in the top 20 and advanced to her second straight Wimbledon quarterfinal.
On hard courts, Ana Bogdan competed in the US Open without warming up. She competed in the qualifying rounds against Fernandez Contreras Gomez after arriving directly from the European clay. Since winning the W60 Andrezieux-Boutheon title in January, the Romanian has not seen success in the main draw on a hard court. Not that she hasn’t achieved anything noteworthy recently; she still holds a top-70 status. She entered her first WTA final at the end of July and lost to Caroline Garcia (after going 0-4 in semifinals); the following week, she won a 125K trophy in Romania.
Ajla Tomljanovic and Ana Bogdan are scheduled to face each other in the round of 32 of the 2022 WTA Slovenia Open on Tuesday, September 13. The tournament is scheduled to begin on September 12 and end on September 18.
The 2022 WTA Chennai Open is scheduled to commence on September 12 and go on until September 18 this year. The tournament will have five rounds of play excluding the qualifiers. These are the round of 32, round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals.
