The American defeated Andrea Vavassori in the first round 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 and then went on to beat Maximilian Marterer 6-3, 6-3, 7-6 (7-3) in the second.
American tennis player Frances Tiafoe has made it through to the third round of the 2022 Wimbledon Championships and will face Alexander Bublik. The American defeated Andrea Vavassori in the first round 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 and then went on to beat Maximilian Marterer 6-3, 6-3, 7-6 (7-3) in the second. Against Marterer, Tiafoe scored 15 aces and converted four out of six break points. He also had a whopping 90% win percentage on the first serve and 14 service game wins to go with that.
Alexander Bublik’s Wimbledon so far has been decent as the Kazakh has recorded straight set victories in both his matches so far. In the first round, Bublik went up against Marton Fucsovics and came out with a comfortable 6-1, 6-2, 6-4 victory. The Kazakh would then face Dusan Lajovic in the second round. The match was a thriller that ended 7-6 (9-7), 6-2, 7-5. Bublik hit 17 aces on the day and won two out of five break points.
Tiafoe and Bublik are scheduled to face each other on Friday, July 1 in the third round of the 2022 Championships. The timing of the match has not been decided yet. The Championships is scheduled to begin on June 27 and go on until July 10. There were a number of exciting matches on July 1 as the likes of Djokovic, Sinner, Alcaraz and others will be in action.
