After impressing at the Swedish Open and the Swiss Open, Dominic Thiem can shift his focus to his home ATP 250 competition, the Generali Open. At the Swedish Open, Thiem went as far as the quarter-final, defeating the likes of Emil Ruusuvuori and fourth seed Robert Bautista Agut before losing to Sebastian Baez in the quarter-final. In Gstaad, the 28-year-old reached the semi-final where he was knocked out by second seed Matteo Berrettini. Thiem will go up against French player Richard Gasquet in the first round at Kitzbuhel.
Gasquet has has been on a decent run of form himself, reaching the third round of Wimbledon where he was eliminated by Botic van de Zandschulp. The Frenchman was also a part of the Swiss Open where he was beaten by second seed Berrettini in the second round.
Dominic Thiem and Richard Gasquet will take on each other on Monday, July 25 in the first round of the 2022 Generali Open. The tournament is scheduled to begin on July 25 ad conclude on July 31 this year.
