Iga Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka are scheduled to face one another in the semi-final of the US Open 2022 on Friday, September 9.
Iga Swiatek has brushed aside her bracket competition with relative ease, previously defeating Jasmine Paolini, Lauren Davis, Sloane Stephens, and Jule Niemeier. With these victories, Iga is now 55-7 in 2022, with over $6.5 million in prize money. She has six singles titles, all in the WTA 500 tier or higher, including the French Open. Despite being the youngest of the semifinalists, the Pole has the best track record. Swiatek hasn’t been an easy opponent this season, but Sabalenka plans to change that. She can draw inspiration from Iga’s early exits in Cincinnati and Toronto, as well as Madison Keys and Beatriz Haddad Maia.
Following a lackluster start to the 2022 WTA Tour, Aryna Sabalenka, the current World No. 6, has redeemed herself in the US Open swing. After reaching the semi-finals in Cincinnati and the quarter-finals in San Jose, the 24-year-old arrived in New York with a lot of momentum – and has done well to convert it into a positive result. Aryna finished second in Stuttgart and Den Bosch earlier this year. Overall, Sabalenka is well-prepared to challenge Swiatek. Her desire to win this one may be heightened by the fact that she has already been defeated by her three times this year. Of course, her pedigree is impressive, with major titles in singles and doubles.
Iga Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka are scheduled to face one another in the semi-final of the US Open 2022 on Friday, September 9. The 2022 US Open is all set to begin from August 29 till September 11.
