Iga Swiatek and Ons Jabeur are scheduled to face one another in the finals of the US Open 2022 on Sunday, September 11.
Iga Swiatek, the current world No. 1, made history in New York by becoming the first Pole to advance to the semifinals at Flushing Meadows. Swiatek has largely defeated her opponents in the bracket, having previously defeated Jasmine Paolini, Lauren Davis, Sloane Stephens, and Jule Niemeier. Iga is now at a remarkable 55-7 in 2022 with more than $6.5 million in prize money thanks to these victories. She has won six singles titles, including the French Open, all of which are in the WTA 500 tier or higher. The Pole is the one with the most success. This season, Swiatek hasn’t been at all straightforward to defeat.
Ons Jabeur is overjoyed after reaching the US Open 2022 final. She is now the first African and Arab female player to reach this stage at Flushing Meadows. Ons is currently in the best shape of her life, having easily defeated Madison Brengle, Elizabeth Mandlik, and Veronika Kudermetova in New York. The Tunisian encountered some opposition in round three against Shelby Rogers, but overcame it. After falling just one win short of a historic Wimbledon title this summer, Jabeur has done well to focus on the positives. Her form was questioned after she fell in the first stages in San Jose, Toronto, and Cincinnati, but she recovered well.
Iga Swiatek and Ons Jabeur are scheduled to face one another in the finals of the US Open 2022 on Sunday, September 11. The 2022 US Open is all set to begin from August 29 till September 11.
