By winning the championship on the indoor hard courts in Metz a few weeks ago, Lorenzo Sonego put a stop to his dismal performance on the main circuit this year and rejuvenated his career. In main-draw matches on indoor hard courts this season, Bernabe Zapata Miralles is 0-2; one of those defeats was against Lorenzo Sonego in the opening round of the ATP Sofia tournament last month, 3-6, 4-6. The Spanish player’s best season on the main circuit is without a doubt this one. Before 2022, he had only won six games in the main draw of tournaments on the circuit, but this year, he has won nine games in the main draw, and a few months ago, he made his first quarterfinal appearance at this level in Umag.
