In the opening round of the 2022 WTA Hamburg Open, Katerina Siniakova of Czech will face Daria Kasatkina of Russia on Sunday.
After defeating Petra Martic at Roland-Garros, Katerina Siniakova is still searching for a final singles victory. She lost heartbreakingly to Elisabetta Cocciaretto in Budapest, 7-5, 4-6, 7-5, while going 0-3 on grass. The Italian broke her ten times, and she was unable to finish the match on serve. Her season main draw win-loss record is currently 6-13, which includes a few retirements from a few months ago at Miami and Madrid. Her incredible doubles accomplishments, including victories at Wimbledon and the Australian Open, greatly lessen her problems.
In Berlin and Bad Homburg, respectively, Daria Kasatkina finished her respectable but brief grass-court run by overcoming Ekaterina Alexandrova and Jule Niemeier in the quarterfinals. She remains in Germany to continue her enormously popular clay adventures from 2022. For the first time since 2019, the Russian is so close to making a comeback to the top 10. Her four semifinal appearances, notably in Rome and Roland-Garros, the latter of which was her career’s new best Grand Slam performance, and her 27 match victories during the season have made it feasible.
Katerina Siniakova and Daria Kasatkina will take on each other on Sunday, July 17 in the first round of the 2022 WTA Hamburg European open. The competition is scheduled to commence on July 17 and conclude on July 23 this year.
