Argentina’s tennis veteran Diego Schwrartzman will be faced with the task of beating Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in the first round of the 2022 Canadian Open. Seeded 12th in the competition, Schwatrzman has had not much luck in the past month. At the 2022 Wimbledon Championships, the Argentine could only make it through to the second round where he was dumped out by an unseeded Liam Broady. He then participated in the Swedish Open and Germen Open, but was eliminated in the first round and quarter-final respectively. The Argentinian will be hoping for a change of fortunes in Canada but it will not be an easy task.

Alejandro Davidovich Fokina has not fared much better than Schwartzman in the past month. In fact, his record almost parallels that of his opponent. The Spaniard was eliminated in the second round of Wimbledon, following which he participated in the competitions at Sweden and Germany but failed to make much of an impact.

2022 Canadian Open Schedule

The 2022 edition of the Canadian Open is set to begin from August 8 and go on until August 15. The men’s final is scheduled to be on August 15 and the women’s one is set to be held on August 14. There will be six rounds of play in the main draw excluding the qualifiers.
