Rybakina vs Riske: Cincinnati Open 2022 Where to watch, Schedule, Date, Live Streaming details

In the third round of the 2022 WTA Cincinnati Open on Thursday, Kazakhstan's Elena Rybakina, ranked 25th in the world, will face the United States' Alison Riske, ranked 29th in the world.

Rybakina has been having trouble with results ever since leaving the grass of London behind as she continues to adjust to her new role as Wimbledon champion and the increased pressure that comes with it. But this week in Cincinnati has gone smoothly for her thus far. She started out by easily defeating Egypt’s Mayar Sherif, ranked 58 in the world, and advanced to the second round with just five games lost. Garbine Muguruza of Spain, the world’s top seed and eighth opponent, provided a more difficult challenge for her, at least on paper. Although Muguruza clawed back one of them, it was not enough to launch a comeback after she took the lead in the first set after two breaks. At the beginning of the second set, the pair traded breaks, but after that, the Spaniard crumbled and failed to win another game in the contest. In the end, Elena Rybakina was able to win easily.

For the first time in her career, Alison Riske has advanced to the third round of an event, however she owes her advancement to a bit of luck. She had a successful tournament debut, defeating world number 48 Sara Sorribes-Tormo of Spain in straight sets to set up a scheduled encounter with Marie Bouzkova. The omens did not necessarily favour her in that match. The Czech world number 46 easily won in straight sets as they faced up at Wimbledon last month. Ultimately, though, Bouzkova had to withdraw from the match due to an injury, and Riske received a walkover.

Elena Rybakina and Alison Riske are scheduled to face one another in the third round of the 2022 Cincinnati Open on Thursday, August 18. The tournament is scheduled to run from August 14 till August 21.

The 2022 Cincinnati Open will see six rounds of action excluding the qualifiers. These include the round of 64, round of 32, round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and final for both men’s and women’s. The tournament is scheduled to commence on August 14 and conclude on August 21 this year.
