Casper Ruud beat Jiri Lehecka 6-3, 6-4 in the round of 16 to make it through to the quarter-final.
Ever since the French Open earlier this year, Casper Ruud’s season has been anything but decent. The Norwegian might have made it through to the final of the clay curt Grand Slam but things have not gone to plan since. Ruud was ousted in the round of 32 of the Queen’s Club Championships, followed by a second round exit at Wimbledon. In Gstaad, Ruud will be hoping to make more of a mark. He beat Jiri Lehecka 6-3, 6-4 in the round of 16 to make it through to the quarter-final. The Norwegian will face Spanish player Jaume Munar in the final eight of the competition.
Munar recorded a couple of impressive victories to make it though to the quarter-finals of the competition. The Spaniard beat compatriot Bernabe Zapata Miralles in the first round and followed it up with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Alexander Ritschard in the round of 16.
Casper Ruud and Jaume Munar will take on each other on Friday, July 22 in the quarter final of the 2022 Swiss Open. The competition is scheduled to commence on July 17 and conclude on July 23 this year.
