The Swiss Open currently sponsored by J. Safra Sarasin and called the J. Safra Sarasin Swiss Open Gstaad and originally known as the Swiss International Championships is a tennis tournament held in Gstaad, Switzerland. Held since 1898, the tournament is played on outdoor clay courts. Between 1970 and 1989 it was an event of the Grand Prix tennis circuit and is now a part of the ATP Tour schedule as an ATP Tour 250 series event. The first edition of the tournament was played in 1915 at the Gstaad Palace Hotel and was organized in collaboration with the Lawn Tennis Club (LTC) Gstaad.
Casper Ruud, the top seed, will face Jiri Lehecka in the second round of the Swiss Open in Gstaad. The Norwegian has had a successful season thus far, winning 31 of 44 matches and claiming two trophies, both on clay. The 23-year-old also won the Geneva Open, defeating Joao Sousa in the final. Lehecka has won just four of his 14 matches this season, with his most significant accomplishment being reaching the Rotterdam Open quarterfinals with victories against Denis Shapovalov, Botic van de Zandschulp, and Lorenzo Musetti. Despite being set up, he finally fell against Stefanos Tsitsipas.
