Jessica Pegula added to her already stellar season with victories against Petra Kvitova and Emma Raducanu in the quarterfinals of Cincinnati and the US Open, as well as a semifinal appearance in Toronto. She’s most likely about to meet the singles and doubles qualifying requirements for the WTA Finals. She has often shown that she saves her best performance for the major competitions. Injury setbacks have recently plagued the former world No. 9, with her most recent break occurring in February and March. In the previous four years, she has only made it to two WTA quarterfinals: Charleston in 2022 and Birmingham in 2021. Since the US Open in 2017, she hasn’t attended one on hard courts.
