On Tuesday in the round of 32 WTA Slovenia open, Jasmine Paolini of Italy will face Tara Wurth of Croatia.
The latter three months of Jasmine Paolini‘s 2021 season were outstanding, and they served as the foundation for her top 50 debut. Although it included a semifinal in Courmayeur and a third round in Indian Wells, the highlight was in Portoroz, where she advanced to her first WTA final and won. For that unexpected victory, she prevailed over experienced rivals Sorana Cirstea, Yulia Putintseva, and Alison Riske. A year later, the Italian is still having a difficult time. Despite reaching clay semifinals in Warsaw and Palermo, she has lost nine times in the first round, including 6-3, 6-0 to Iga Swiatek in New York.
After winning the first three titles of her professional career in the previous two seasons, Tara Wurth, a top 70 junior player in 2020, leaped to get rated as high as 158th. Her 12-match winning streak in July, which earned her the W25 Tarvisio and W60 Rome crowns in Italy, was the show-stopper. Only on clay courts did the victories occur. After switching to hard courts last month, she suffered a few qualifying defeats in New York, but she recently upset Timea Babos and Lina Gjorcheska in a tightly contested three sets to secure her spot in the WTA main event for the first time in Portoroz.
Jasmine Paolini and Tara Wurth are scheduled to face each other in the round of 32 of the 2022 WTA Slovenia Open on Tuesday, September 13. The tournament is scheduled to begin on September 12 and end on September 18.
The 2022 WTA Slovenia Open is scheduled to commence on September 12 and go on until September 18 this year. The tournament will have five rounds of play excluding the qualifiers. These are the round of 32, round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals.
