After a two-hour, 25-minute match against fellow countrywoman and fourth seed Anastasia Potapova, Anna Blinkova advances into her first WTA final. She had a 5-1 lead and three set points when she dramatically lost the first set, but she fought back to win the match 5-7, 6-4, 6-4. Beginning with Wang Xinyu and Anhelina Kalinina, her last three rounds have all gone to a third set. She is ready to request her first professional championship since 125K New Haven in 2019 and her sixth professional title overall. She has lost all four of her finals this year, most recently at the 125K Saint-Malo in May against Beatriz Haddad Maia.
After winning all three of the opening rounds in less than two hours, Jasmine Paolini advanced to the semifinals. The seventh seeded Wang Xiyu, a rising star, gave her the biggest test of the week, and despite suffering injuries to her left knee and abdomen, she persevered until the final score read 7-5, 4-6, 6-3. Two of her five top-60 victories this season had come in this week alone, and it was her second seeded opponent she has defeated this season after defeating Marta Kostyuk, 5-7, 6-3, 6-4, in the opening round. Along the road, she defeated Dayana Yastremska and Jule Niemeier, both of whom advanced to the quarterfinals of Wimbledon.
