Jelena Ostapenko and Lyudmyla Kichenok are in the quarter-finals of the 2022 Wimbledon Championships and they will face the team of Shuko Aoyama and Chan Hao-ching. It will be a battle between the fourth and eighth seeds. In the previous round, Ostapenko and Kichenok got the better of Heather Watson and Harriet Dart. The score at the end of the match was 5-7, 6-4, 6-2 which saw the winning team hit two aces and secure six out of 18 break points.
Aoyama and Chan have had a fine season as well. The duo beat the team of US players Alison Riske and CoCo Vandeweghe in the round of 16 by a score of 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 (10-3). Aoyama and Chan converted seven out of 15 break points and won nine service games to take the match victory and advance to the next round of the competition.
The two teams are scheduled to face each other on Tuesday, July 5 in the round of 16 of the 2022 Championships. The timing of the match has not been decided yet. The Championships is scheduled to begin on June 27 and go on until July 10. There were a number of exciting matches on July 6 as the singles competition reaches its business end.
