Cameron Norrie’s tennis is finally getting the attention it deserves. Last month, Norrie talked favorably of his recent Wimbledon exploits, saying that people are starting to notice his game and his name. The British No. 1 reached his maiden Grand Slam semifinal at SW19 after a stellar year on the ATP Tour. Norrie has achieved a better level than a year earlier, having won two additional ATP championships (Delray and Lyon) and becoming runner-up in Acapulco. He is still in with a chance to finish the year in the top ten, but he will face heavy competition from his peers. Norrie’s outstanding 2022 season has now reached a critical juncture.
Chun-Hsin Tseng won his fourth ATP Tour title, defeating American qualifier Nick Chappell 6-4 6-4. A break on either side of the two sets was enough to do the job and advance to the second round. The Taiwanese Next Gen talent is ranked No. 84 in the world following a stellar season on the ATP Challenger Tour in which he won titles in Bangalore and Murcia. Despite the narrow result, Tseng dominated the match against Chappell. Throughout the match, he did not face a single breakpoint on his serve and averaged more than 80% of points won on both the first and second serves.
