Cameron Norrie had reached the final of the Los Cabos Open, which was his last competition.
British tennis player and ninth seed Cameron Norrie had to endure a heartbreaking loss in the Los Cabos final earlier this month but he will pick himself up and have a go at the 2022 Canadian Open. In his opening match, the Brit will face American tennis upstart Brandon Nakashima. Norrie had reached the final of the Los Cabos Open, which was his last competition. Before that, the ninth seed was a part of the Wimbledon Championships where he reached the semi-final stage. Norrie will be hoping to go that one step further and win the crown in Canada.
Brandon Nakashima has had consistent performances over the last few competitions and he will be hoping to continue that form into the Canadian Open. The American reached the quarter-finals of the Los Cabos Open and the Atlanta Open. Nakashima was a part of the Wimbledon Championships ahead of those and made it as far as the round of 16 at the grass court Grand Slam.
Cameron Norrie and Brandon Nakashima are scheduled to face one another in the round of 64 of the 2022 Canadian Open on Monday, August 8. The tournament is scheduled to run from August 8 till August 15.
