Cameron Norrie, the ninth seed and Britain’s number one player, will face Spaniard Jaume Munar in the second round of the 2022 Wimbledon on Wednesday, June 29. Cameron Norrie, the current British number one, defeated Spanish veteran Pablo Andujar in the first round on court 2 at the All England Club. Jaume Munar of Spain defeated Brazil’s Thiago Monteiro in straight sets as a 6/4 underdog to get to the second round at Wimbledon for the first time in his career.
Munar leads the head-to-head 1-0, having won a round of 16 clay court match in Rio de Janeiro in 2019. It was a tight match that was settled by a third set tie break. Norrie started the season strong and will only grow better with each game. He lost the last time he played Munar, but Norrie has improved tenfold in the three years afterwards. The world number twelve should win in straight sets.
