The first ATX Open will take place from February 27 to March 5, 2023. In a busy week of tennis, there are five tournaments happening on the ATP and WTA tours. The top seed in the draw is Magda Linette. Danielle Collins, Zhang Shuai, and Anastasia Potapova come after her. Among the other notable participants are Sloane Stephens, Lauren Davis, and Alycia Parks. For the first time since the Australian Open, Emma Raducanu was scheduled to compete, but a case of tonsillitis forced her to withdraw. Venus Williams was also involved, but her season has been derailed by an injury she sustained at the beginning of the year.

Texas has once again been chosen to host a competition after hosting the WTA Finals the previous year. In November 2022, it was formally declared to be a part of the women’s circuit. Outdoor hardcourts will be used for the competition. It will feature 16 doubles teams and 32 singles competitors. The primary sponsor of the occasion is The Covert Auto Group.
