Rafael Nadal has not been in good form recently and has not played enough tennis for the last few months, he would be looking to bounce back in style by picking up a win against his much-depleted opponent. He lost against Auger-Aliassime and Fritz at the ATP World Tour Finals winning only against Ruud. In both the Cincinnati Masters and the Paris Masters, he got knocked out right in the round of 32 stage by Tommy Paul and Coric respectively. And at the US Open, he was looking really good up til his round of 16 encounters with Tiafoe where he eventually lost. He beat Gasquet, Fognini, and Hijikata in that tournament.
Jack Draper has been in decent form recently winning three of the last five matches he has played in and looks to start the year on a high. He hasn’t made it to the later stages of any of the major tournaments he has played in the last couple of months. He lost to Kwon Soon-woo in the Adelaide International 2 a few days ago in the semi-final stage after beating Khachanov, Tommy Paul, and Sonego on the way. In the Adelaide International 1, he lost to Khachanov in the round of 16 stage after beating KwonSoon-woo in the first round. At the Next Gen ATP Finals, he lost at the semis to Nakashima after beating Musetti, Tseng, and Stricker.
