Much like the Monte Carlo Masters, the Madrid Open is one of the most important competitions of the clay season leading up to the French Open. The women’s edition of the competition is scheduled to start ahead of the men’s. Some of the best tennis players in the world including the likes of defending champion Aryna Sabalenka, Iga Swiatek, and Paula Badosa will be part of the historic competition. The stakes are high and the action will be fast-paced. With that in mind, here is all you need to know about the 2022 edition of the WTA Madrid Open.

On Tuesday, April 26 and Wednesday, April 27, the qualifying rounds will be held in Madrid. On Thursday, April 28, the main draw will begin. On the first few days, the matches will begin at 11 am local time before shifting to a noon start. Wednesday, May 4 and Thursday, May 5 are the dates for the quarterfinals and semifinals, respectively. On Saturday, May 7, the singles and doubles finals will be held.
