Former world no. 1 Andy Murray has had a season of resurgence of sorts this year and he will be hoping that continues at the 2022 Canadian Open. The Scottish tennis legend will start off his campaign with a match against tenth seed Taylor Fritz. Although he was ousted in the very first round at the Citi Open, Murray has put in consistent performances for the most part in the last couple of months. He reached the quarter-final stage of the Hall of Fame Open and before that, he made it all the way to the final of the Stuttgart Open where he was unfortunately defeated by an in form Matteo Berrettini.

Taylor Fritz has had a fine season so far. He put in a brilliant display at the 2022 Wimbledon Championships which saw him make it all the way through to the quarter-final and before that, the American was the victor of the Eastbourne International competition. Playing against someone like Murray is never easy but with the form Fritz is in, he has a good chance of causing an upset.

2022 Canadian Open Schedule

The 2022 edition of the Canadian Open is set to begin from August 8 and go on until August 15. The men’s final is scheduled to be on August 15 and the women’s one is set to be held on August 14. There will be six rounds of play in the main draw excluding the qualifiers.
