Idol ?

Recently, Matteo Berrettini praised Roger Federer, his idol and role model. He claimed that in the future, both on and off the court, he could only hope to be as admirable as the Swiss. In May, the former world number one paid a visit to participants in the School Readiness Program. The initiative was introduced by his charity in 2020 in collaboration with local groups. It collaborates with 900 community-based childcare providers to increase the proportion of disadvantaged children who have access to formal early education. Wonderful to see that we are having a real impact on the ground with the Roger Federer Foundation. Access to quality early education is crucial and it is the foundation of all learning. I am so happy I made my way to Malawi,” Berrettini said.

Matteo Berrettini stated in a recent interview with HELLO that the 20-time Grand Slam champion has been his hero since he first started playing tennis. He also mentioned the kindness of his hero. Berrettini went on to say that in order to learn from him, he kept a close eye on him while he was on tour. I can only try to be as good as him. Roger has brought so much to the sport, he doesn’t need to prove anything anymore,” Berrettini added.
