The Aussie duo of Nick Kyrgios and Thanasi Kokkinakis will face the team of Lloyd Glasspool and Harri Heliovaara in the round of 16 of the men’s doubles category of the 2022 US Open. Kyrgios and Kokkinakis, seeded eighth in the Grand Slam, were up against Andre Goransson and Yoshihito Nishioka in the second round of the competition and managed to take a fine 6-4, 7-6 (7-3) victory. The Aussies hit 10 aces in the match and converted one out of five break points. Their next opponents, Glasspool and Heliovaara, also had a simple day at the office in their second round game. The British-Finn duo made short work of Raven Klaasen and Marcelo Melo, winning 6-4, 7-6 (8-6) after hitting seven aces and a couple of break points.
Kyrgios/Kokkinakis and Glasspool/Heliovaara are scheduled to face each other on Tuesday, September 6 in the round of 16 of the 2022 US Open. The fourth and final Grand Slam of the season began on August 29 and will go on until September 11.
