Hubert Hurkacz, ranked 11th in the world, will play the 46th-ranked Emil Ruusuvuori on Wednesday in the second round of the 2022 ATP Citi Open.

Hubert Hurkacz was anticipated to challenge some of the top competitors after winning the Halle Open title in the run-up to Wimbledon this year. Instead, despite being a 1/8 favourite to win the match, the top-ranked Polish man was eliminated in the first round by Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in a gruelling five-setter match. Hurkacz hasn’t competed since, but he’s looking forward to returning to the American hard courts. Because it was in Miami in 2021 that he claimed his first Masters 1000 victory. Additionally, the Pole had won the Delray Beach Open, so all things considered, it appears that the United States is a happy hunting ground for him.
Emil Ruusuvuori defeated Mackenzie McDonald in his opening match in two hours and 18 minutes, but it took him three sets to come back from a set down. In double quick time, Ruusuvuori lost a set, but he quickly recovered to break McDonald. He dropped his serve there in the sixth game, but he broke his American opponent the very next game and finished off the equaliser shortly after. But when Ruusuvuori finally gained his bearings, McDonald raced out to a 3-0 lead and showed no signs of backing down. After that, there were two serve breaks, and the Finish number eventually prevailed 1-6, 6-4, 6-4. Ruusuvuori had a few strong performances on hard courts in the early half of the season, reaching the final of the ATP Pune and the semifinals of the Melbourne Summer Set 1.
Hubert Hurkacz and Emil Ruusuvuori will face each other in the second round of the 2022 Citi open on Wednesday, August 3. The ATP 500 competition is scheduled to start from August 1 and end on August 7 this year.

The 2022 Citi Open will see six rounds of action excluding the qualifiers. These include the round of 64, round of 32, round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and final. The tournament is scheduled to commence on August 1 and conclude on August 8 this year.
