The world's number 10 player, Hubert Hurkacz will face Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, in the opening round of the 2022 Wimbledon.
World no. 10 Hubert Hurkacz will face 38-ranked Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in the opening round of the 2022 Wimbledon. These two players have met four times before, and in each meeting they have each won two games. At the 2020 US Open and the 2021 Montpellier Open, Davidovich Fokina won their first two encounters, however Hurkacz bounced back to overcome his opponent in Cincinnati and Madrid. Hurkacz struggled on grass, as his lack of experience prevented him from winning more than four games.
After falling during his opening-round match against Pedro Martinez, Davidovich Fokina was forced to leave the Eastbourne International early in the week before Wimbledon. Given all that has transpired, Hurkacz shouldn’t have many issues in this matchup, despite the fact that the world number 10 will be playing 38th-ranked Davidovich Fokina in the first round.
Hubert Hurkacz and Alejandro Fokina are scheduled to face each other on Monday, July 27 in the first round of the 2022 Championships. The timing of the match has not been decided yet. The Championships are scheduled to begin on June 27 and go on until July 10. There are a number of exciting matches on opening day as the likes of Djokovic, Sinner, Murray, Norrie and Alcaraz will be in action.
