Ugo Humbert has not been in good form recently and has been on a losing run for the last couple of months and he will be motivated to have a change of fortune in the first match of the new year. He has been losing the tournaments he has played getting knocked out right in the first rounds. He lost to Wu in the Adelaide International 1 in the first round and before that, he also got knocked out right in the first match against Moutet in the Paris Masters. He made it to the round of 16 stage of the Swiss Indoors losing to Rune after picking up crucial victories against Brooksby and Karatsev.
Christopher Eubanks has been in decent form recently and looks to start the year on a high. He hasn’t made it to the later stages of any of the major tournaments he has played in the last couple of months. He lost to Vukic in the US Challenger campaign after winning the first two matches against Zhu and Sandgren. In the next tournament, which is the ASB Classic he has made it from the qualifiers beating the likes of Lajović and Sousa, and looks all set to make things tough for Ugo Humbert in the round of 32 stage.
