Hugo Dellien has been in great form recently and looks to take that form into the Cordoba Open as well. He made it to the semi-finals of the last tournament, which was the Concepcion Challenger losing to Coria. In the Australian Open and in Wimbledon, he lost to Couacaud and De Minaur right in the first round. In the ongoing Cordoba Open, he beat Seyboth Wild in the first qualifier by 6-4, 4-6, 7-5, then he faced Kicker in the second qualifier beating him by 4-6, 6-1, 6-2. In the round of 32 tie, he beat Cachín by 6-3, 6-4 and in the round of 16 stage, he beat Pella by 6-3, 6-4. He beat Juan Cerundolo in the quarter-finals by 7-6, 4-6, 0-6.
Sebastian Baez hasn’t been in great form recently and looks to start the year on a high. He hasn’t made it to the later stages of any of the major tournaments he has played in the last couple of months. He lost to Jason Kubler in the Australian Open in the first round and also in the opening round to Ben Shelton at the ASB Classic. In the opening round of the Maharashtra Open and Paris Masters, he lost to Martinez and Khachanov respectively. He beat Darderi in the first-round match of the ongoing Cordoba Open with the score ending 6-3, 6-4. He beat Barrios Vera in the quarter-finals by 6-1, 3-6, 6-1.
