Caroline Garcia will face Maria Bouzkova in the fourth round of the Wimbledon 2022. Former world number 4 Caroline Garcia now has an unique opportunity to advance to her first Grand Slam quarterfinals in more than five years. Her final appearance in a major competition occurred in the 2017 French open. She last advanced to the round of 16 in Paris in 2020. Garcia though, has had a good opportunity to develop some form, experience and her prize money collection as a result of this week’s activities. She has already won matches against big favourites Emma Raducanu (6-3, 6-3), Yuriko Miyazaki (4-6, 6-1, 7-6) and in form Chinese veteran player Shuai Zhang (7-6, 7-6).
Meanwhile Marie Bouzkova at the age of 23, has delivered one of the best Grand Slam result of her career so far. The victories have been impressive, beginning with Danielle Collin’s three set upset over the number seven seed and clear favourite. Then she defeated Ann li (6-0, 6-3) and Alison Riske Amritraj (6-2, 6-3) in straight sets. Bouzkova defeated Garcia last time when they faced each other in Birmingham class last year in straight sets.
Garcia and Bouzkova are scheduled to face each other on Sunday, July 3 in the fourth round of the 2022 Championships. The timing of the match has not been decided yet. The Championships is scheduled to begin on June 27 and go on until July 10. There were a number of exciting matches on July 2 as the likes of Swiatek, Badosa, Krejcikova and others will be in action.
