Daniel Elahi Galan will begin his 2022 San Diego Open campaign with a match against Marc-Andrea Huesler in the round of 16. Galan had a memorable performance at the 2022 US Open which saw him beat fourth seed Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-0, 6-1, 3-6, 7-5 in the first round on August 30. Galan would then go on to defeat Jordan Thompson in a thrilling five-setter that ended 6-2, 2-6, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3. The Columbian’s dream run at the Grand Slam, however, would come to an end thanks to Alejandro Davidovich Fokina. The Spaniard defeated Galan in the third round 6-4. 5-7, 6-4, 6-4 to end his fairy tale run. However, fans have remembered the Columbian’s performance against Tsitsipas and will be eager to watch him play more competitive tennis.

Marc Huesler did not have as impressive a US Open as Galan but he has done quite well for himself this season regardless. Right before the US Open, Huesler had taken part in the Winston-Salem Open where he beat the likes of Ilya Ivashka and Jack Draper to make it as far as the semi-finals. There, he was defeated 7-6 (7-3), 7-6 (7-5) by Laslo Djere. The Swiss was ousted in the very first round of the US Open after losing 6-2, 4-6, 4-6, 6-3, 1-6 to Denis Shapovalov.

The 2022 ATP Moselle Open is scheduled to commence on September 20 and go on until September 26 this year. The tournament will have five rounds of play excluding the qualifiers. These are the round of 32, round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals.
