Seeded 24th Francisco Cerundolo has been a constant threat to all his opponents all thanks to his wonderful form that has got the whole tennis world talking and it will just be a matter of time until the young boy has the whole world at his feet. In his past few performances, he has made quite a name for himself by making it to the quarters at the Argentina Open losing only to Zapata Miralles, and also making it to the third round of the Australian Open where he was beaten by Auger-Aliassime in a four-set thriller. At the Cordoba Open, he could only make it to the quarters after retiring from the match against Coria due to injury, and at the Miami Open, he also made it to the quarters but lost the match against Khachanov.
Pedro Cachin has not looked consistent at all in terms of results and will need to get things straight before he gets started at the Madrid Open. He made it to the round of 16 stage of the Argentina Open losing to Musetti and at the Cordoba Open, he lost to Dellien right in the first round itself. At the Australian Open, he lost to Carreno in the opening round, and at the same stage he was knocked out of the ASB Classic by Lestienne. At the Rio Open and Chile Open, he got knocked out in the first round itself by Galan and Juan Cerundolo respectively. At the recently played Madrid Challenger, he performed brilliantly to move onto the finals thereby losing it to Shevchenko. In the ongoing Madrid Open, he beat Shelbayh in the first-round matchup by 1-6, 4-6.
