In the ongoing Miami Open, he beat Kovacevic in the first-round matchup by 4-6, 4-6, and in the second round, he beat Auger-Aliassime by 2-6, 5-7. In the round of 16 matchup, he beat Sonego by 3-6, 6-3, 6-2.
14th-seeded Karen Khachanov has been out of form for quite some time now and looks to get himself back on track as soon as possible and he feels that the Miami Open will be the ultimate platform for him to prove himself. At the Australian Open, he pulled something out of the top drawer and surprised a lot of tennis fans in the world by making it to the semi-finals where he lost to Tsitsipas after battling in what was a four-set thriller. At the recent Indian Wells, he lost to Davidovich Fokina in the round of 32 stage. In the ongoing Miami Open, he beat Etcheverry in the first-round matchup by 6-1, 3-6, 6-3, and in the second round, he beat Lehecka by 6-2, 6-4. In the round of 16 matchup, he beat Tsitsipas by 7-6, 6-4.
