Rafael Nadal fell 6-3, 6-4 to Felix Auger-Aliassime in the second round-robin round after taking one hour and 57 minutes. As a result, Nadal accepted his poorest stretch since 2009 and went into his last group encounter against Casper Ruud with minimal hopes. The award’s youngest recipient was a teenager, and Rafa was denied the chance to challenge Carlos Alcaraz for the year’s top spot. Felix was the betting favourite to defeat Rafa for the first time going into the match, and he succeeded.

If he defeats Taylor Fritz on Thursday, the Canadian, who arrived in Turin having won three straight indoor titles, would get the chance to play in his first ATP Finals. Felix saved all five break points after serving 15 aces and won the shorter rallies. One break every set helped Nadal’s opponent win the match as he struggled to make much of his opening shot, lost position in rallies, and battled to hold his own. By preventing break in the first set, Auger-Aliassime advanced 4-3.  Twitter was abuzz with fan reactions and in this article, we take a look at some of the best ones.
