Dream

Felix Auger-Aliassime and Denis Shapovalov teamed up once more to win the Davis Cup for Canada on Sunday, seven years after they did the same for the junior competition. In the press conference following the game, Auger-Aliassime talked about winning the Junior Davis Cup and how it inspired him to pursue the same goal at the senior level. Yeah, I mean, it’s much bigger, of course. But at the time, you know, we were kids. It was like a dream also. I remember like we were just, like, We won it. Felt like it was the real one,” said the 22-year-old.

I do recall that it was the first in any Davis Cup competition, junior or otherwise. Although we were 15, 16, and had just won the Junior Davis Cup, I remember us projecting that we would win this one day. He continued by expressing his hope that this generation of Canadian athletes would experience even greater success as he had “come full circle.” Being in this situation is cool; it seems like a full circle. Vasek has participated in the Davis Cup for many years and has won numerous games. When I was younger, I recall seeing him play. won many crucial matches. The rest of the young men then started to emerge and began to perform well. It’s a unique group. Hopefully, this generation will be able to advance this issue significantly, he continued.
