Federico Delbonis hasn’t been in great form recently and looks to start the year on a high. He hasn’t made it to the later stages of any of the major tournaments he has played in the last couple of months. He made it to the quarter-finals of the last tournament, which was the Concepcion Challenger losing to Coria. He lost to Kicker in the Australian Open in the first round and also in the opening round to Struff at the Canberra Challenger. In the ongoing Cordoba Open, he beat Navone in the first qualifier by 7-5, 6-1, then he faced Tirante in the second qualifier beating him by 6-1, 7-5. In the last round, he beat Tabilo by 6-7, 6-2, 7-6.
Francisco Cerundolo has been in great form recently and looks to take that form into the Cordoba Open as well. He made it to the semi-finals of the last tournament, which was the Concepcion Challenger losing to Coria. In the Australian Open, he bowed out of the tournament right in the third round to Auger-Aliassime after beating the likes of Moutet and Pella in the first two rounds. In the Paris Masters, he lost to Shapovalov in the first round. And in the European Open, he made it to the round of 16 stage losing to Thiem and in the Vienna Open, he lost to Sinner in the round of 16 stage as well.
