The Big Three refers to Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic, three of the best tennis players of all time. Over the course of nearly two decades, the three of them have won a combined 63 Grand Slam singles titles. Collectively, they have spent eight years in the top three of the ATP rankings at the end of the year. Tennis fans can’t stop debating who is more legendary between Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, and Novak Djokovic. Who among our three best tennis players is the most desirable and most beloved by fans around the globe?

Roger Federer

After winning Wimbledon in 2003, Federer rose in popularity, and his 2004 Australian Open victory propelled him to the top of the tennis world rankings. Federer has 12.8 million Twitter followers and 11.1 million Instagram followers, making him one of the most popular athletes in the world. In terms of popularity among spectators, Roger Federer is hard to beat. Fans follow him across the world and sing his praises whenever he performs. Remember how the Center Court audience at Wimbledon 2019 roared in approval at every point made by the Swiss? Federer is a champion not just in tennis but in all sports because of his grace, style, and charisma.

Rafael Nadal

From July 2005 until August 2009, Nadal and Federer shared the top two spots in the ATP rankings. Nadal rose to stardom in 2005 after winning the French Open in his first attempt, which included a victory over Federer. Nadal has developed a massive following on social media, with 17.3 million Instagram users and 15.8 million Twitter users. However, counting followers isn’t the most organized way to measure fan popularity. As a professional tennis player, Rafael Nadal is among the best-known in the world. The Spanish star is also not shy about showing his international fan base the same level of devotion.

Novak Djokovic

Djokovic is lagging behind the competition with 9.2 million Twitter followers and 11.8 million Instagram followers. Djokovic finishes dead last, again. Notably, the player has been portrayed as a “bad man” who entered the ATP to compete with and defeat tennis like Federer and Nadal. Djokovic, who has been typecast as the villain, has not received nearly as many warm welcomes as he should have. In 2015, Djokovic admitted that he wanted a greater fan following because he played good tennis, set a good example on and off the court, and won more tournaments. Yet, we are all curious to see what the future holds for him.

Conclusion

The fans have spoken, and for the first time in his career, Rafael Nadal has been named their favourite player. Nadal’s worldwide fame was never in question, but he was never the most well-liked player on the tour. As the other, the more well-known player has won the award 19 times before this year, encompassing the previous 18 years, this is his first win. Roger Federer is his nom de guerre in life. Even though there have been some changes, Roger Federer is still our top pick.
