Ruud advanced to the semifinals with victories over Felix Auger-Aliassime and Taylor Fritz. He did, however, lose his final round-robin match to Rafael Nadal. Andrey Rublev stood in his way of advancing to the title round. Rublev played well in the first set, but couldn’t keep up with Ruud, who won the set by winning five games in a row. The Norwegian rode the momentum wave into the second set as well. He broke his opponent’s serve twice, putting him up 4-0. Ruud then stepped up to serve for the match at 5-2, but Rublev fought back by winning the next two games. Nonetheless, the 24-year-old was able to complete the match on his second attempt, winning 6-2, 6-4 and reaching his first final here.

Djokovic defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas, Andrey Rublev, and Daniil Medvedev to finish the group stage with a perfect 3-0 record. In the semifinals, he faced Taylor Fritz. Djokovic took the lead with a break in the fifth game of the first set, but Fritz broke back immediately to equalise the score. Following that, the pair remained consistent on serve, forcing a tie-break. The Serb came out on top and won the first game. Fritz began the second set with a break of serve, which was followed by a hold of serve, giving him a 2-0 lead. The American eventually served for the set at 5-4, but Djokovic broke his serve to level the score. The set quickly went into a tie-break, with the Serb eventually winning 7-6 (5), 7-6.
